Automation Technician – Mechanical or Electrical
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair automated electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Using diagnostic and test equipment identify and repair or modify machines and systems.
- Must have ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC controlled systems.
- Provide engineering support to install new systems and modify existing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities.
- Make mechanical or electrical related changes required for modification and improvement.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Must have working experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Must be able to set up new equipment.
- Must be able to retrofit existing equipment.
- Must perform other duties as assigned.
- Must take direction well.
- Must be self motivated.
- Must work well with others.
- Must be able to stand and walk the entire 10 to 12 hour shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, twist, turn and stoop.
- Must be able to use a dispatch system.
- Must be computer proficient in word, excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience troubleshooting and programming Allen Bradley PLCs, motion controllers, and man machine interface terminals.
- Injection molding or engineering experience a plus.
- Prefer robot experience.
Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum 4 to 5 years related work experience.
- Must have graduated High School or GED
- Mechanical or electrical journeyman preferred

Job Description:
Conduct
multi-disciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers, operations,
and engineering in the planning, design, development, and utilization of
electronic data processing and control systems for equipment. Designs the
electrical package for equipment and develops the software to control the
equipment.
Requirements:
- Experienced
programming Allen Bradley PLCs & HMIs (including Rockwell FactoryTalk View
HMI) using Rockwell Software.
- Knowledge of I/O
hardware including actuators, sensors, drives, etc.
- Experience at control
panel design and industrial integration.
- Experience designing
and programming the fabrication and installation of control systems.
- Experience in the
following platforms would be a plus: Siemens, TI, and Modicon PLC platforms.
- Experience in the
following a plus: MS Visual Studio programming languages, Computer Networks,
Servers, & Switches.
- Must have good
attention to detail and possess the drive to complete assigned project tasks.
- Good equipment
troubleshooting skills are required.
- Must enjoy fast paced
environment of manufacturing and work well within a team.
- Must have the ability
to apply engineering techniques and standards utilized in the manufacturing of
automotive airbag safety products.

We are currently interviewing for maintenance/line technicians with strong
electrical, PLC, and mechanical skills. The technician will be running equipment
while controlling the line process and performing preventative maintenance and
diagnose equipment malfunctions. Applicants must have two years of industrial
experience and the ability to read drawings and blueprints. Must have a standard
set of hand & power tools. Two year technical degree, hydraulics, and
pneumatics desired.

| Description: |
Responsibilities for
this position include:
- Achieve maximum uptime
on Automated Inspection Systems (AUIS's) by initiating proactive
preventative maintenance plans and maintaining the proper
critical spare parts.
- Suggest and implement
equipment improvement projects to ensure that the machine fabrication time and
machine uptime are continuously improving.
- Work closely with the
machine operators and the engineering AUIS process owner.
Requirements for this
position include:
- BS or higher in Material
Science or Engineering with 7+ years of experience with automated equipment
used to manufacture and inspect composite structures
- Experience with the
initiating equipment preventative maintenance plans and maintaining a critical
spare parts inventory
- Experience with
composite ultrasonic inspection processes and equipment
- Knowledge of and
experience programming automated equipment using software systems
- Experienced in the
manufacture of composite aircraft components using thermoset resin
- Experience
troubleshooting automated equipment for mechanical and electrical problems
- Good communication and
technical presentation skills
- Must be able to work in
a team environment and be a self starter and finisher
- Position can be filled
at a lower level IV if person has less than 7 years of experience.
Preferred but not
required:
- Ability to program using
Labview software
- Certified level I or II
NDI inspector
- Knowledge of and
experience using phased array and through transmission ultrasonic inspection
(UT) equipment
- Organizational skills
(project management)
- Understanding of process
control, Lean and 6 sigma
- PowerPoint presentations
